"Official" OiNK IRC channel

The staff have decided on a location to have an "official" IRC.

irc://irc.xevion.net / #oink

Standard port 6667, SSL on 6670
You need a registered nickname to join the channel. To do so, type
/msg nickserv register

Hope to see you there.

UPDATE: IRC is back working normal, thanks to the IRCOps.

*** You are banned from Xevion.Net (You joined a banned channel (bots))***

what happened?

Anonymous said...

The admins of xevion.net just decided to ban everyone that was on #oink.

Now I am banned too!

Anonymous said...

Apparently, I'm a bot.

Umm, change network, seriously. That network isn't stable and seem to be populated by overzealous IRCops.

Is the ban temporary? Or is the "official" irc channel moving somewhere else? Will we be able to find out here?

Yeah, apparently we have all been ipbanned. i vote efnet

Give the IRCOps of that network some time to get it back running. If we decide to move to another network, it will be posted on the blog. It sure wont be EFnet or DALnet, because of host masking reasons for most users.

Freequest maybe? They have both host mangling and ssl. And as far as i've been there it's been pretty stable.
http://www.freequest.net anyways.

I'm one of the IRCops, the issues were not with oink users, there were several botnets that connected at the same time, and one of the admins started mass banning connections, they have now been removed and service is returning to normal.
