PayPal fixed

After 3 days of passing paperwork back and forth, PayPal has enabled the option to send a gift to OiNK again. Visit www.saveoink.com if you wish to do so.

Edit: Some people are asking "why have a legal fund when no charges have been brought against him?" The fact is that there are still high costs involved even at this stage, mostly solicitors fees, as well as the cost of living during this very testing time. The legal fund is needed now, as well as later.

Also we felt it best to have one official fund, even if not needed yet, in order to keep scamsites at bay.

What does this fund go towards supporting? Legal fees? Revival? Gas Money?

It should be noted that all of the scamsites (you know which ones) now feature a replica of the saveoink main page. There is a paypal link present. Is this legit?

The scamsites actually do seem to be accepting donations to the same address (Gift@OiNK), but still, I see no reason to trust them or take that obvious risk, especially since neither OiNK nor Paine has said anything about them recently. Just do it through saveoink.com.

Can you sent a conformation mail that you actually received the money?

I just like to be sure that you received it.

Responding to other posts.

If you're going to donate to the cause you should only donate from the official oink page.

Common sense.

Glad after my last rant I could finally put my money where mouth was and donate. (Paypal really does suck; I think they freeze every account, at least once, and clean up on the float.)

Thanks Alan and I don't care how the hell you spend my 100 sheckles. (Yo, Doug, as long as it goes to Alan, what do you care how it's used? I'm sure it's not your life savings.) I sincerely hope that it doesn't have to go to lawyers, barristers, soliciters and other bloodsuckers. I really wish this were a well-deserved, long-overdue payday for you. Unfortunately, that'll probably not be the case. But if it were (and Doug, I'm talking to you and everyone else who's getting bent out of shape about what's going to happen to his/her $5.00), I'd be thrilled.

Alan created one of the most unique and special places and we all benefitted. I really loved OiNK (RIP); it wasn't just some BT site. I'm ashamed to admit, however, that I took Alan's, Paine's, the_e_male's, toomuchtime's and everyone else' hard work completely for granted and donated not a penny to show my appreciation and help. Shame on me. Sometimes, you don't appreciate people and their hard work and efforts until something like OiNK (RIP) is gone.

Those that supported OiNK and donated have probably already donated to help Alan.

But those like me who never did the right thing should do so now.

DONATE AND HELP ALAN & OiNK. DONATE, DONATE, DONATE, DONATE.

Thanks Alan. Godspeed.

Is there an address where I could snail mail a $20 bill to if I am too paranoid to use paypall?

I have given £10. If only 10,000 of the 180,000 members do the same Then thats a legal fund of a hundred thousand quid, Or with a bit of luck a very wealthy animal charity :)

Isn't it a bit weird for people to be paying before there are any actual legal costs? Why not just wait until some arise before opening a donation page? It only seems to add fuel to the scam site fire. It's common sense for people who would donate to wait until donations are needed. Having a donations page before they are needed is a bit confusing, unless you've been following everything.

rin, this is to be prepared for the worst. And in case nothing is needed, then it goes to charity. Personally I don't see anything wrong with donating ahead of time. Well, that is, if I had any money to donate *Sighs*. But yeah.

So either Alan gets some legal fund help, or an animal charity gets to prosper. I don't see the issue here :D

The scam sites actually have that "PayPal" page hosted on their own servers. They're phishing for CC numbers and PayPal logins. ONLY DONATE on the real SaveOiNK site.

genius.

Yep, he just lost a few fans (including meself) with that one. Congrats, Oink!

I am too thick to get this rabbit thing. Could anyone explain to me?

Why sure, Mr. Idot RIAA undercover file sharer. It should lead you straight to the hole in your ass.

Just for the record, and for all of you fortunate enough not to have required legal services, especially WHEN YOUR FREEDOM IS AT STAKE:

LEGAL FEES DO NOT BEGIN TO ACCRUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF TRIAL OR UPON BEING CHARGED or not necessarily even upon arrest. Legal fees, especially when your freedom is at stake, start at stratmospheric amounts and if/whenever there is any possibility whatsoever that you may be in any legal jeopardy whatsoever, legal fees begin to accrue, need to be paid and only continue to grow and grow and . . .

Alan's legal fees began to accumulate long before his ultimate arrest. Further, legal fees are best spent and earned long before arrest and equally so before (and to avoid) being charged and same true before trial.

NOW is precisely when Alan MOST NEEDS the VERY BEST LEGAL HELP HE CAN POSSIBLY BUY AND THAT WON'T HAPPEN WITHOUT HELP FROM ALL OF YOU.

Please stop looking for BS reasons not to contribute SOMETHING. EVEN A NOMINAL AMOUNT IS WORTHWHILE AND CAN'T POSSIBLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE, BUT IT WILL HAVE A VERY, VERY, PROFOUND EFFECT ON ALAN'S.

If you want to help animanls, donate to the ASPCA or PETA. But before doing so, GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO ALAN WHO MADE OiNK POSSIBLE. YOU BENEFITTED FROM OiNK, WHY NOT PAY FORWARD, EVEN IF JUST A LITTLE.

There's no crime in contributing to any cause and THE BIG BAD Record and Music and Hollywood, etc groups could give a rat's ass about who's contributing to Alan's legal defense fund. They're jonesing to much for TPB, AXXO and the big boys. If THEY want to get you, it won't be for making a LEGAL contribution . . .

In the States (yeah, the Evil Empire), it's Thanksgiving for us this week. Let's give Thanks to Alan and lend a hand. How 'bout it?

[btw, just as a totally unrelated nonsequiter, I really hate those supposed anti-spamanoters word verifications, if to avoid automated spam, why do the letters have to be so ambiguous and absurd looking?]

Dude, regarding the OiNK merch, where can I get the images to make designs of my own? I live in a country where I can't even use Paypal and shipping costs would be more expensive than making the designs over here.

Why can't he get legal aid?
It is the UK after all....
