I miss OiNK, this is so much good news.
This is the best day of my week so far (along with other things from real life, don't think I'm such a geek).

So as a former member of OiNK who doesn't have any proof besides a few torrent files. How the hell can I get into any of these new sites :S
if you ever need more hosting or mirror sits, give me a buzz.
What.cd doesn't require proof of oink membership. i'm sure there will be waffles invites flying all over the place within a few weeks, too.
I'm anxious to see what this new site Paine is hosting will be. Possibly OiNK forums? Time will tell.

I'm hoping when OINK returns all old users will be able to get back on without jumping through hoops for an invite. I was on for close to 2 years and maintained a good ratio. I'm still on Indietorrents.

Not to sound like a stickler, but this blog is getting dry. I mean, the community is alive and rapidly blossoming into 2 different entitites at the moment, and a battle for prosperity is about to begin. big things are happening, and nothing is even being mentioned here... honestly, is Boink really looking to be that promising?
you have a piont dizzy - this blog could be used to have everyone settle on a specific alternative, but what makes you think that's the purpose? i think you're looking for the oinkmemorial blog (where's that rolleyes smiley?)

Can you pleaes let people through either a blog or otherwise that just because I'm a moderator on the "unofficial" forums doesn't mean I know anything about what's going on with the actual OiNK team? I've been receiving PMs on OiNK one after one about straight forward news on what you're talking about. If you're not going to do it for me, do it for the other moderators you may favor on the ohax forum.

I'm with everybody on the invite front. I'm not much for chat, forums, and such, but I was on OiNK for two years and maintained a high ratio. I hope someone will invite me back. I briefly took a look at iTunes after OiNK went down. F-ing stupid. How does anyone feel sorry for an industry that built its entire fortune on a single piece of technology and wasn't clever enough to adapt when it started to be replaced?
I know you said that hosting has been found but I would also like to offer my services. I have a huge pipe at my disposal (currently 30 Meg x 30 Meg fiber) and space for a server or two. Maybe some private mirroring and/or a dedicated TOR server?

Hey even though its becoming dry (which is of course, nothings really happening other than people jumping on what and waffles) doesn't mean that I don't check it every day and appreciate the time & effort. Paine you rock, keep it up!
don't panic around , i am sure that all those old OiNK members are all day long digging for updates , not to be left with their eyes in the sun when v2 tracker...
I miss the tracker so much, but this is also a good way to re-listen to all the torrents i ever uploaded / downloaded .

I'm lucky enough to be on both new sites, and they both have promise.
I wouldn't get in a panic about invites yet (easy for me to say, I know) Both sites are aiming to be big, so there should be space for all.
I can't connect to waffles at all, and what.cd is slow as hell, so it's irrelevant just now anyway.

After the OiNK downfall I'll certainly be trying to maintain a presence on more than one private tracker - I only had my 2 yr OiNK account and was totally cut out after 23/10. OiNK was great because it was quirky and individual and felt like a real community, it was not trying to be THE tracker. Surely such elitism/competition can only harm our wee sharing caring scene. All hydra heads need fed. Oh, and cheers for the blog Paine.

OiNK was the best, no question about it. Except that pink colour, loved the orange style sheet though!
