Just a note here -- There is still no official donation fund. I.e. "Oinkybank" is not anything any of the staff, nor oink himself has been involved with.
None of us have been approached by the owners of that site either. Looks like someone's making a killing off our piggy backs.
EDIT: A few people have been asking if we know about the index2.html on oink.cd -- Yes, we did, and pasted it in the #oink channel.

"Good intentions" thats awesome but the need for money has not come up yet. While it is a nice gesture please do NOT donate to any site unless oink says his self that he needs money for legal defense.

Dunno about Paine, but i think one of us has talked to the guys on that Wafflehat thingie, and told them to hold back for a while. Wait things out. Nobody can tell atm what will happen, and OiNK himself hasnt said yet what he wants to do. Give it some weeks.
I changed the colour scheme because people complained about it being hard to read.
Thanks for the blog zap, keeps me updated. First and foremost thank god oink is alright. I was devastated when I heard about the site go down, I actually shed a tear. That community is/was the best. it was the first site I went to in the morning, and last site i went before going to bed. If an official donation becomes avail, I wont hesitate to contribute. oink isnt dead people, it's just on timeout right now =P

Well, if the do have funds, I think it's very telling to see how people are reacting in this situation. If the RIAA or similar organization were being messed with, would people stand behind them with even their talk? NO. Oink has people DONATING, after a couple days, to whatever they can (or think they can) do to help. I think this is something that should be in the news articles: There are actually people out there that feel a strong sense of community and will put their money where the mouth is to help said community out. If the music industry operated more like oink, we'd all be better off. (Can you imagine a site that lets people download whatever they want for free and donate what they think is reasonable?... Hmm, not sure that would work on a large scale, but I think that's what Radiohead did with their new CD).
May the admins of OiNK be blessed by the holy God, and may they get the power and mindset to put Oinkys butt back upon all other internet-sites...

I think OiNK is probably hesitant to accept money at this point because there is already so much misinformation spreading in the media about how OiNK was a "pay site" and that he made "hundreds and thousands of pounds." In any case, if/when the need arises, I'll be there.

Oink.cx.la didnt get anything from anywhere. Nobody except the authorities have the seized userdata. Dont believe everything you read on a pink website (except this one ;)
